For your first session, please plan to arrive 10-15 minutes before your scheduled appointment to allow time for us to talk about your health history, bodywork experience, preferences, and goals. Please fill out an intake form before your appointment so I can review that before your arrival. This information helps me design your session to best address your needs, please indicate if there are any areas of your body you would like to avoid. If you arrive late, your treatment will still end on time in consideration of the next client.
After we chat, I will leave the room and return once you are lying comfortably on the table between the sheets. Please undress to your level of comfort. During your massage, you will be draped to protect your privacy, so completely undressing is appropriate. If you feel more comfortable wearing undergarments, please feel free to do so.
Throughout your session please simply relax, breathe and allow me to move your limbs without assistance. I will check in with you periodically for feedback on pressure and your general comfort. Please speak up if you become uncomfortable for any reason. If you feel pain, if you need more or less pressure, if the room temperature is too hot or cold, if the music is too loud, if your sinuses become uncomfortably congested, I need you to let me know! Our work will be most effective if you are comfortable and completely relaxed.
When your session is over, I will leave the room and let you get up off the table and redress, please take your time to do so if needed. When you’re ready, open the door and i’ll meet you back in the room to go over any questions you may have and to check you out.

The short answer is, it depends on what your goals are for the session. Please read through the services page for details on each style and decide which suits your needs for that particular appointment. If you are still unsure which style is right for you, you can contact me directly to discuss your options, or you can pick the style that sounds similar to a massage you’ve had before and book the day, time, and amount of time you want and we can discuss your specific goals in person when you arrive for your appointment and make any needed changes.

I accept cash, Venmo, and debit and credit cards including Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, as well as HSA/FSA cards. You may also pay using a Centered Bodywork gift certificate. If you choose to jump on membership, your card on file will be billed on the first of the month or quarter and you will not need to be checked out after every appointment.

MAssage has a cumulative effect. While a single massage as a treat to yourself is wonderful, regular massage - whatever the frequency - can lead to profound and long-lasting changes. Depending on your personal preference, your budget, and your needs, you may choose to come every week or just a few times a year. Everyone’s needs are different, but generally speaking, once a month provides “maintenance” of previous progress, while more frequent visits create more long-term change. For acute issues such as injury recovery or chronic pain, more frequent visits are recommended initially. It’s also important to remember that doing your “homework” like stretches, strengthening, or mobility exercises makes a big difference in how frequently you need treatment and whether your massage will have a lasting impact.

I require 24 hours notice for all cancellations and reschedules. If you cancel or reschedule and appointment with less than 24 hours notice, a fee of 50% (before any discounts) will be charged to your card on file as cancellation fees. If you “ no show” an appointment, 100% of scheduled services (before any discounts) will be charged to your card on file. If you need to cancel, you can contact me directly or use the cancellation link in your original confirmation email.
Please understand that cancellation charges are in place as reimbursement for wait time and opportunity cost. A minimum of 24 hours notice allows time for possible appointment replacement with someone from the waitlist. I do appreciate more notice whenever possible.
If you are late to your appointment, your session will still end at teh scheduled time out of consideration for the next client. Please allow plenty of time for traffic and any required paperwork.

Though not required, gratuities are a great way to show appreciation for the quality service offered. Tips average between 15%-20% of the service price. You may leave a tip in cash, with Venmo, or add it to your credit card at check out.
